Knight Online, commonly abbreviated
KO, is a Massive Multiplayer Online
role-playing Game (MMORPG) that was developed by Noah System and MGame
Corporation. Currently there are numerous companies that host KO depending on
geographic region and some severs are Free to Play while others are Pay to Play.
Knight Empire, a major Knight Online update was released in September 2005 and
in August 2006 the expansion, Reign of the Fire Drake, was released.
KO is set in the Medieval time period where players complete numerous quests,
defeat monsters, and participate in PvP (player vs. player) and PvE (player vs.
environment) combat for experience points, items, money, and other rewards.
When first entering the game players must choose between 2 nations: Karus the
nation of the Orc tribes and El Morad the nations of the Human race. Players may
join clans or parties within their won nations where they engage in persistent,
large-scaled wars between the nations. By remaining undefeated characters will
receive rewards and titles from their king, become war heroes, and become lord
of their own castles and even the rulers of a city.
Players can choose from 4 different Knight Online classes: Mage, Priest, Rogue,
and Warrior. Besides the basic KO skills that come with each class, players can
choose 3 skills-trees where additional skill points can be added. After a second
job is acquired at level 10, two skill points are gained at each level.
There are various zones that characters can play in which will determine whether
players engage in Knight Online PvP or PvE game play.
Moradon City: This is the location where new players begin their journey. It has
low level quests and monsters for the beginners and is also the only zone where
Karus and El Morad cannot attack each other.
Karus/ El Morad: This is the largest zone in the game and is home to many
monsters ideal for mid to high level characters to hunt. Since no player can
enter the opposing nation it is focused mostly on PvE gameplay.
Eslant: Entrance to this zone is granted only to level 60+ players. It has high
level monsters and is free of PvP combat.
Ronark Land: This is mainly a PvP zone but the new expansion added new monsters
to defeat and new Knight Online quests to complete for experience points.
Adream: This zone is similar to Ronark Land but is available to lower level
players (level 30-59).
Lunar Valley: This is the land that connects the two opposing nations and is the
location of the Lunar Gate wars. The victorious nation can invade the loosing
nation’s homeland.
Abyss. This zone is home to the only dungeon in the game. It consists of 20
levels with each level featuring monsters that get progressively stronger.
Players can participate in PvP combat but unlike other zones, no money or np is
gained from defeating a member of the opposing nation.
